Hair/Makeup/Costume Policies
COSTUME - Please make sure that your child is dressed in her costume. Your child must wear her tights and bloomers.
Tights are put on first and then the bloomers!!!
All bras must be strapless or have clear straps.
KEEP ALL COSTUME ITEMS IN THE BAG SO YOU DON’T LOSE ANYTHING!
ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR ALL ITEMS
THAT HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO THEM IN THE PACKAGE.
LIPSTICK WILL BE WORN BY ALL PERFORMERS
AND SHOULD BE PUT ON BY A PARENT.
MASCARA & BLUSH (NOT INCLUDED)
MUST BE WORN TO ALL PERFORMANCES.
STUDENTS NEED TO BRING THEIR BATONS TO EACH PERFORMANCE
AND ENDS MUST BE CLEAN.
SHOES MUST BE TIED IN A DOUBLE KNOT. NO SOCKS!!! TIGHTS ONLY!
IF IT IS COLD, THE STUDENT CAN KEEP A COAT AT THE LINE UP SITE AND WE WILL REMOVE THEM WHEN IT STARTS. THEY CAN PICK THEM UP AT THE END OF THE PARADE.
NO OTHER JEWELRY CAN BE WORN THAT IS NOT INCLUDED
WITH THE PACKAGE. NO EXCEPTIONS!
ALL NAIL POLISH AND TEMPORARY TATTOOS MUST BE REMOVED.
GLITTER STARS GO ON NEXT TO THE EYE.
HAIR MUST BE WORN IN A BUN. HAIR WILL BE PARTED ON THE LEFT SIDE AND PULLED BACK IN A VERY TIGHT, LOW PONY TAIL (it should be level with top of the ear). THE HAIR MUST BE SLICKED BACK INTO A TIGHT PONY TAIL WITH HAIR GEL AND HAIR SPRAY. AT THIS POINT YOU NEED TO SPLIT THE HAIR IN TWO SECTIONS AND TWIST AND USE HAIR PINS TO PIN THE HAIR DOWN, YOU WILL THEN MEET THE OTHER SECTION OF HAIR, TWIST IT INTO THE FIRST SECTION AND CONTINUE WRAPPING AND PINNING. THEN USE A HAIR NET TO SECURE ANY LOOSE HAIRS AND SPRAY IT WELL. THE STARS WILL GO ON THE SIDES BEHIND THE EARS! HAIR WILL BRUSH BETTER WITH A GOODY BRUSH WITH BLACK BRISTLES. THAT GETS ALL OF THE BUMPS DOWN. ALL HAIR MUST BE SLICKED DOWN, NO LOOSE HAIRS OR BANGS UNLESS THE STUDENTS BANGS ARE CUT ABOVE THE EYEBROWS. PLEASE PRACTICE THIS PRIOR TO PARADE DAY. YOU CAN CLICK HERE SEE A VIDEO DEMONSTRATION OF HOW TO DO A BUN. (YOU MUST SCROLL DOWN TO THE "HOW TO DO A HAIR BUN FOR PERFORMANCES VIDEO SERIES). BLUE HAIR TIE GOES ON OVER THE BUN AND HANGS DOWN FROM THE BOTTOM SIDE OF THE BUN.
HAIR BUN SUPPLIES:
Hair Pins (Not bobby pins) Hair pins are round at the bend
Pony tail elastics - get thick ones that will tightly hold the hair
Hair gel - LA looks has a good one that is cheap
Hair spray
Hair nets (this will need to be wrapped over a few times
COSTUME CARE
Your child’s costume can be washed by hand with gentle detergent. DO NOT soak them. Simply rinse them for a couple of minutes in soapy water, rinse well and hang dry. They can not go in the washer, dryer and can not be dry cleaned. The same goes for the tights and shoes.
If you lose an item, you need to call me to find out how much a replacement will be.
